
El Hierro was considered the western end of the World and the zero meridian was originaly here. It is the smallest of the Canary Islands, with just 273 km2.
Its high orographic structure is filled by the Malpaso peak at 1,500 meters high, and beneath it lies a belt of laurel forest, pine forests and lush forests of junipers, among the highlights of an island amazing botanical variety.
El Hierro coasts are steep, with no sandy beaches but plenty of natural volcanic coves who seduce those who visit the island. ?The southeast half is framed by the Sea of Calm, a safe haven protected from wind and storms.
Another place that can not fail to visit is the “el Valle del Golfo (Frontera)” . From the viewpoints of the “La Peña” and “Jinama” discover a dazzling view of the valley, also famous for its wines with denomination of origin and their banana plantations and pineapple.
